smart Malaysia is thrilled to announce the winners of the 'Electrifying The Future' competition, held in collaboration with the University of Wollongong Malaysia (UOW Malaysia). The competition showcased innovative short videos from talented students, culminating in an exciting screening event at the UOW Malaysia campus.
Team 2 Fast 2 Smart took home the grand prize of RM5,000 for their captivating and humorous video that effectively highlights the smart #1's unique features and benefits, setting it apart in the electric vehicle market. Team JSL secured second place with a heartwarming road trip narrative, winning RM4,000, while Team SJY Studio claimed third place with an inspiring vision for a sustainable future, earning RM3,000. Additionally, an Honourable Mention Prize of RM1,000 was awarded to Team Jus Mad. The Most Likes and Shares prize of RM1,000 was awarded to Team BCM.
"STEAM capabilities are becoming increasingly relevant for the future and this competition allows students to align with our goal of reimagining the future with EV cars. The storytelling concepts and ideas from our students are creative, with added humor, and I want to congratulate the winning teams. These students represent the future and have the right mindset to tell the story of the society we aspire to create," said Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of Smart Malaysia.
The finalists shared their insights and motivations with a distinguished panel of judges and senior management from both Smart Malaysia and UOW Malaysia throughout the contest period which began on 31st May 2024.
“It has been a privilege to be part of the students’ journey, ensuring that creative thinking is integrated into their syllabus while showcasing their talent through developing short videos. They demonstrated an excellent understanding of how to convey messages about the new EV lifestyle, creatively telling stories about the positive impact of EVs and how they can inspire global change,” said Professor Dr. Hiew Pang Leang, Vice Chancellor of the University of Wollongong Malaysia.
